OVERVIEW
Rushmore Holdings is proud to be delivering
the Khandiza Mine Project for Almalyk Mining and
Metallurgical Complex (Almalyk MMC), one of
Uzbekistan’s largest and most prominent mining
enterprises. Located in the Surkhandarya
Region—an area rich in mineral resources—the
Khandiza mine forms part of Uzbekistan’s broader
strategy to expand and modernize its mining sector
to meet growing global demand.
This project, initiated in mid-2024, demonstrates Rushmore Holdings’ capabilities in delivering complex mining infrastructure under a full turnkey contract. Our scope of work covers the complete construction of a specialized vertical blind shaft, designated as the Ventilation Shaft, which is a critical component in the long-term sustainability and efficiency of mining operations at the site.
SCOPE OF WORK
Detailed site assessment and
engineering design
Full-scale excavation of
the vertical blind shaft
Structural lining and
reinforcement
Installation of advanced
ventilation systems
Mechanical, electrical, and
instrumentation works
Final commissioning and integration
with existing mine operations
PROJECT SIGNIFICANCE
The vertical blind shaft serves as a vital conduit for air
circulation within the mine, ensuring the safety, health,
and comfort of underground personnel while optimizing
ventilation efficiency for deeper mining operations.
Proper ventilation is essential not only for regulatory
compliance but also for improving productivity, reducing
energy consumption, and controlling underground
environmental conditions such as dust, heat, and gas
concentrations.
Given the technical complexity of vertical shaft
construction—particularly in varying geological
formations—Rushmore Holdings applies advanced drilling
and excavation technologies, comprehensive geotechnical
analysis, and stringent safety protocols throughout all
phases of execution. The project also integrates the
latest international standards for occupational health and
safety (OHS), environmental management, and
operational risk mitigation.
Enhanced operational depth and
mining capacity for Almalyk MMC
Improved underground safety and
environmental compliance
Adoption of best-in-class mining
construction practices
Contribution to Uzbekistan’s
strategic mining sector growth
